I finally found a little time to put together an RSS plugin for the Simplest Forum. It is now available from the downloads section. It allows two levels of subscriptions: users can subscribe to an entire forum or to a specific topic. The level of subscription is determined by the view that the user subscribes from. For example, if the user is on the list of topics, subscribing to the feed will subscribe them to the entire forum. If instead the user is on the post list view or topic detail view the subscription will be for the selected thread.

A couple of important things to note - the RSS plugin will NOT WORK with versions of the Simplest Forum prior to 1.5.1. I have posted the upgrade component installs for 1.4.2 to 1.5.0 beta and 1.5.0 beta to 1.5.1. You can not directly upgrade from 1.4.2 to 1.5.1 - YOU MUST UPGRADE TO 1.5.0 BETA BEFORE UPGRADING TO 1.51.

I'm still hoping that one of those Simplest Forum users out there will spring for a little time and provide an alternate graphic design that's a little more sporty. If you're a graphics person or aesthetically inclined, please consider jumping on that task.
